Papa y Oscarito van a caminar a las montanas; Dad and Oscarito go for a walk in the mountains

Hola. Hoy es el domingo 24 de mayo de 2009. Papa y mi primo Oscarito se fueron a caminar en las montanas al noreste de Cochabamba en la manana y yo me quede con mi mama, otros primos, y mis tios Shirley y Tito. Arriba me ves con mi tia Shirley, y abajo me ves con mi prima Noelia y su papa, mi tio Tito. Estoy estrenando la ropa nueva que una estudiante de mi papa me regalo ayer.

Hi. Today is Sunday, May 24. Dad and my cousin Oscarito went hiking in the mountains to the northeast of Cochabamba and I hung out with my mom, my other cousins, and Aunt Shirley and Uncle Tito. Above you see me with Aunt Shirley and below you see me with my cousin Noelia and her dad Tito. I'm wearing a new outfit one of Dad's students gave me yesterday.

Below you see a donkey waiting for its owner to return from town. The donkey is loaded up with whatever the owner bought in town and the hike home up the mountain begins.

Aqui estoy con los regalos de Tasmania. Me mandaron una camiseta nueva y un koala. Mis papas comen pan tostado con Vegemite y queso.
Above you see me with the gifts from Tasmania. I got a nice new shirt and a koala. My parents eat cheese on toast with Vegemite.

Arriba me ves con mis libros nuevos. Que lindo! A poco tiempo de haber tomado la foto participamos yo, mi mama y mi papa en el apagon en pro del medio ambiente que tomo lugar a las 8:30 PM el sabado 28 de marzo.

Que año mas increible! Naci durante la visita de mis abuelos Kuster a Bolivia, y al mes comenzaron a llegar encomiendas del exterior.

What an incredible year! I was born during the visit of Grandpa Ted and Grandma Helga to Bolivia, and within a month I started receiving packages from overseas.

Todo comenzo con dos cajas: una de mi Tia Nicolasa y mi Tio Bert, y una de mi Tia Andrea y mi Tio Paul, ambas de California en los EEUU. En las cajas (que llegaron en febrero) habia linda ropa y libros imprescindibles que usan mis papas para guiarse en el cuidado que me dan. Sigo usando la ropa y mis papas leen los libros a diario. Tambien habian en las cajas unos recuerdos hermosos que me hicieron en el baby shower de mi prima Leona Johanna en California. Gracias tios y primos!

It all started with two boxes: one from my Tia Nicolas and Tio Bert, and one from my Tia Andrea and Tio Paul, both from California in the US. In the boxes (which arrived in February) I received wonderful clothes and indispensable books that my parents refer to to help them take care of me. I use the clothes all the time and my parents read the books daily. There were also some really nice gifts that my uncles and aunts and cousins made at the baby shower for my cousin Leona Johanna in California. Thanks uncles and aunts and cousins!

El sabado 28 de marzo recibi una caja con libros de una gran amiga de mis papas, Jane, de Minnesota en los EEUU. Gracias Jane!

On Saturday March 28 I received a box with books from a good friend of my parents', Jane, from Minnesota in the USA. Thanks Jane!

El miercoles 1 de abril recibi una caja de unos nuevos amigos en Tasmania. Recibi una camiseta nueva y un koala. Gracias Claire!

Palacio Portales

Hola! El dia martes 14 de enero 2009 fuimos primero a Tuesday, un restaurante en la Avenida America Este aqui en Cochabamba. Los dias martes hay una oferta de dos por uno en las costillas de cerdo. Que rico! Bueno, yo todavia no las puedo comer, pero mi mama si puede. Arriba nos ves en Tuesday, Papa Ted, Mama Helga y yo, y mi mama.

Hi! On Tuesday January 14, 2009 we went first to Tuesday, a restaurant on America Avenue East here in Cochabamba. On Tuesdays they have a two-for-one deal on their ribs. They're so good! Well, I can't eat them yet, but my mom can. Above you can see us at Tuesday, Grandpa Ted, Grandma Helga and me, and my mom.

Despues de terminar de comer fuimos a visitar el Palacio Portales en la Avenida Potosi. Que lugar mas increible! Hay jardines hermosos, y la casa es majestuosa y bella.

After we finished eating we went to see Palacio Portales on Potosi Avenue. What an incredible place! There are stunning gardens, and the house is majestic and beautiful.

Aqui estamos! Mama esta conversando con Mama Helga y yo estoy en los brazos de Mama Helga. Estamos sentados en la entrada a los jardines, esperando que comience el recorrido de los jardines y la casa.

Here we are! Mom is chatting with Grandma Helga and I am in Grandma Helga's arms. We are seated at the entrance to the gardens, waiting for the tour of the gardens and the house to start.

I stayed with mom at the entrance to the gardens while Grandma Helga, Grandpa Ted and dad went to tour the gardens and the house.
